#12 Rollyo

This one gave me problems. I had to ask three co-workers for help (the first two couldn't remember how they did it) before I finished it. It seems obvious now but for some reason I couldn't get that last step -- the link to my blog. Anyway, I decided to add some sites for movie reviews that I always use so I think Rollyo will actually be useful for me. If I include the web in my search, I also get a lot of movie news and trivia that's fun.

#11 Library thing

It's true. So many books, so little time. I am forever writing down titles of interesting books on litle scraps of paper that I eventually lose, so LibraryThing is perfect for me. The link to my library is http://www.librarything.com/catalog/alicestwopointoh and is culled from a list I found stashed in a box. I'm a little behind on some of the series so that's why some of the books are older ones.

More #10 Online generator

You get two for the price of one. The Christmas ornaments came from FD toys. I love these IKEA ornaments: they're bright and colorful and perfect for the season. Create your own puzzle at http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/. Countdown came from the generator blog at http://http://generatorblog.blogspot.com/. I knew I wanted to use the clock as soon as I found it. It's my reminder to hurry up!

Thing #9 Finding feeds

Feedster is changing and will be back soon. Apparently, Feedster is female because it has been changing for a while now and probably won't be back soon.

I tried Topix.net (it was okay, I added Wordsmith to my blogline) and Syndic8.com which I didn't really like at all. Maybe it was just the way I was searching, but I didn't find what I was looking for. I tried a search for Tennessee library news on Technorati and when I found I'm in Round2!I need your VOTE! I was surprised to find Trish Milburn's blog. Out of loyalty to Mel I quickly closed it. The Technorati Tutorial was interesting since it was written in a language I don't read but I did find a link to Learning 2.0 so I followed it and read a few entries from other libraries. I added Lucy's Librarians Learn Library 2.0 to my blogline since they seem to have some good ideas that we might borrow. They are from Newington, CT and have a modified version of what we are doing. All in all, I'm just glad to know what those little icons mean.

#8 RSS feeds

Here is the link to my bloglines.

This exercise wasn't too hard and I'm proud of myself for figuring out how to get my address to show. I found several sites that I already use and borrowed a couple from my coworkers: it's really nice to have everything together in one place. Bloglines makes it so simple. How much easier could it be to copy and paste or simply click on the little RSS box and add to feeds? I watched the tutorials: the one from Nashville Public is really good and I loved the videos from Common Craft. I even watched the zombie one -- cute!

Thing #7 Online images

A party of huckleberry pickers

This photo is from TeVA. It reminded me of going to my Uncle Arthur's house: he lived in a hollow near Wartrace. My parents used to pick bucketfuls of wild huckleberries in the woods across from his house. In case anyone doesn't know, huckleberries are very similar to blueberries in appearance and taste and can be used in any recipe that calls for blueberries.

More thing #6 Flickr fun

It was like being a kid in a candy store trying to pick a favorite but obviously I settled on Spell With Flickr. I had a hard time figuring out how to get my words to look right without being one long wraparound string. Eventually, I just copied one word at a time and it worked.
